Kenilworth Guest House in the English Lake District
A lovely place to stay in the heart of the English Lake District
About us

Kenilworth
is a Grand Victorian House and was built in the 1890's from traditional Lakeland slate. Many of the original features have been maintained, such as the tiled floor and stained glass of the entrance porch, which leads into the spacious hallway with it's original open wooden staircase.

This gives the house a warm, welcoming feel, added to which, all rooms have controllable central heating and all are double-glazed. The mountain tops are regularly covered in snow in the winter-it is rare, though not unheard of, for there to be snow here in Windemere!

For everyone's comfort, we are completely non-smoking. We have six guest bedrooms in total, and offer family, double, twin and single rooms. All of the bedrooms are en-suite.

Kenilworth Guest House lounge There is a spacious and comfortable ground floor lounge for guests to use, with a plentiful supply of literature describing local attractions, and walking and touring maps of the area which may be borrowed. For the occasional wet day (and there are some!) there is a range of reading matter, games and jigsaws and a colour tv and video recorder.
Our hearty breakfasts are served in the ground floor dining room. Full English breakfast is included of course, although a lighter version or vegetarian alternative is also available. We serve local produce (the sausage is made by the local butcher) and the free-range eggs are delivered from the local farm. Quorn sausages are offered for our vegetarian guests, and these are cooked separately from the meat products. Kenilworth Guest House dining room
Kenilworth Guest house is situated in a quiet residential area of Windermere, yet all local amenities are close by. We have some private off-road parking, and there is parking freely available on Holly Road. There is a wide and varied selection of eating places within walking distance, to suit all appetites and price ranges, and we are happy to make suggestions.
We are also happy to help plan your days' activities, whether you are visiting the area for the first time, or are amongst the many British or overseas visitors who return to stay with us on a regular basis. Kenilworth Guest House hallway
